To give shine and luster, the Chyangra Pashmina is blended in various combinations with fine silk. The warmth of Chyangra Pashmina and the strength and luster of silk create a new lustrous and rich look. When weaving, the silk yarn is placed in the ‘warp’ and pashmina yarn is placed in the ‘weft’ under various combinations. The specification 70:30, 60:40, 55:45 denotes the ratio of Chyangra Pashmina content to silk content by weight.
Various colored shades are created either by dyeing the yarn itself before weaving or by a process of multi-stage dyeing of the fabric to create desired shades and patterns. Reversible fabrics, using different colors or shades on either sides are also possible.
